This is a great video of Robert Plant and Strange Sensation performing Morning Dew. The venue was the Isle of Wight and the date was June 3, 2002. Hard to believe it was seven years ago! It’s interesting to see footage of the band at this early stage–it was one of the first dates on the Dreamland tour. You can see how the band dynamic was still in its infancy. I saw the first US dates of the tour (July 20, 22) and the last (September 13) and it was fun to see the evolution of some of the songs as well as the band itself.
Donations to the annual fund raiser now stand at $130–only $20 from the goal. This might be the fastest the goal has ever been reached–but then the last step is always the most grueling… or so I’ve heard. ;)

So far donations to the annual fund raiser have reached $110! Only $40 from the goal. Making the goal means two things: keeping the site going for another year, and stopping these little announcements. :D

The new Scott Matthews album, “Elsewhere”, will be released on May 25, 2009 and features a duet with Robert Plant on “12 Harps”. Matthews opened for Robert on some UK Raising Sand tour dates. Scott says of recording with Robert: “When he turned up at the studio, we just started jamming and I began singing to show him the melody and the phrasing, and I forgot who I was singing with. We only did a couple of takes and nailed it.”
Check out 12 Harps. It’s a sad little song of loss with vocals by Matthews alone, Plant alone, and both together.
