    Monday Music: Bluebird

    January 26th, 2009 by HiBob

Monday Music offers a random Robert track for your listening perusal.

We’re live again this Monday. This time it’s a song from Priory of Brion, recorded on May 20, 2000. Robert tells an amusing story about Stephen Stills before launching into what he calls one of his favorite songs, “Bluebird”. Robert performed this song off and on over time, but the Priory treatment was jazzier and yet somewhat more exuberent than most of the other performances.

Monday Music: I Can’t Be Satisfied

    January 19th, 2009 by HiBob

Monday Music offers a random Robert track for your listening edification.

It’s another live track today–one very early in Robert’s solo career. The show was April 21, 1981 at the Blue Note Club. It’s only the fifth solo outing of the 80s and Robert was doing lots of blues and rockabilly numbers at these shows. This track is “I Can’t Be Satisfied”. It’s been recorded by many but was originally written by Muddy Waters
    in 1948.

    Monday Music: Nothin’

    January 12th, 2009 by HiBob

Monday Music offers a random Robert track for your listening fun.

Today’s track is a live track from the Raising Sand tour. The show was Columbia, MD (Washington DC), June 13, 2008. The song is “Nothin’” from the Raising Sand album. It’s interesting to follow specific songs through a tour because they take on subtle changes as time goes by. At this point in the tour, “Nothin’” is a bit faster tempo than say, the first night at the Palace in April. “Nothin’” is another of my favorite tracks from “Raising Sand”.

    Monday Music: Horizontal Departure

    January 5th, 2009 by HiBob

Monday Music offers a random Robert track for your listening delectation.

Today’s track is a live track from October 1983. Horizontal Departure (from Principle of Moments) has always been a favorite of mine. I can’t really say why. But then it’s hard to explain enjoyment sometimes.

The January Photo is ready for captions.

The January desktop calendar is also ready. The square version works well on standard monitors. The oblong one is better suited for Apple displays on newer iMacs and powerbooks as well as cinema displays. Just save and install as you would any wallpaper. The calendars are available for a limted time so get them early! Enjoy.
