Robert Plant Donates Guitar for Parkinson’s (updated June 19)
filed on June 18th, 2009 by Press OfficerAccording to the Birmingham Post, Robert Plant has donated a signed acoustic guitar to benefit the Worcester and District Branch of the Parkinson’s Disease Society. The guitar will be auctioned at a fundraising dinner on June 19, 2009 and is expected to raise about £700.
Robin Hancox is the president of the Worcester PDS branch and also happens to live near Robert. He asked Robert about the possibility of a donation after bumping into him at a local shop. Robert delivered the guitar personally, signed it and sat for photos.
“We are incredibly grateful to have such a well-known local legend like Robert Plant donate such a unique prize to our cause,” Hancox stated.
Funds raised from the dinner will support local residents with Parkinson’s through groups in Droitwich, Evesham, Kidderminster and Worcester.
