The December issue (282) of Q Magazine is an Artists of the Century special edition. The fold out cover features 34 artists the magazine feels are the most important of the century, including Robert Plant. Photographer John Wright spent a year taking all the photos used for the cover.
Editor Paul Rees says: “All of the 34 artists who feature on the cover of the Artists Of The Century issue are there because they have significantly shaped or connected with our readers’ lives during the past 10 years – and as such they represent a reflection of the breadth and diversity of Q’s musical world.”
The issue will also feature new interviews with and photos of the artists on the cover.

Gary Regan, from The Cocktailian column in sfgate.com writes about meeting various celebrities and how approachable they are as compared to Andy Warhol. Robert Plant visited a bar Regan was working at and Regan recalls:
Robert Plant, lead singer of Led Zeppelin, came into a bar at which I worked in the late ’80s and early ’90s, and he was just a regular nice guy who took time to talk to everyone who came up to him, even though he was eating lunch. Robert Plant was way more approachable than Andy Warhol.

NPR’s “All Songs Considered” recently released a list of what they see as the 50 most important recordings of the decade. Robert Plant and Alison Krauss made the alphabetical list with Raising Sand.
Meredith Ochs writes:
The pairing of a bona fide rock god with a Grammy-hoarding bluegrass darling raised eyebrows, not sand. But Robert Plant’s love of deep blues and Krauss’ roots-music credibility are well-matched on this 2007 collection of moody Americana. Producer T-Bone Burnett is the catalyst, choosing the material and the players. His snaky sonic stamp gives Raising Sand its vibe, while Plant’s subdued classic-rock caterwaul fits perfectly under and over Krauss’ honey-sweet vocals.
