The Chicago Sun Times reports that Robert Plant visited Chicago this week, even making an appearance with Los Lobos at Taste of Chicago on Tuesday, June 29, 2010. The evening before he treated guests at the James Hotel to an impromptu jam session.
Robert Plant previewed his forthcoming album Band of Joy for critics in New York City on Thursday, June 24, 2010. Kenneth Partridge from Spinner.com reports that Robert attended the preview at the Back Room, a bar in the Lower East Side.
“People say to me, ‘How do we know what you’re going to do next?’” he said. “I have no idea ever what I will do. I just know the first four hours when you meet musicians are the most crucial in your life. You know then whether there’s something really magical there, or whether you’re just churning it out.”
“And I could never go anywhere near that latter condition,” he said.
Robert Plant was spotted having lunch at a New York City eatery on May 14, 2010. While his lunch companions stepped away, Plant teased the photographers.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Robert Plant bought a photograph while returning a pair of jeans at a Nashville mall. Columnist Michael Klein writes:
Localite Scott Segelbaum, who tours with his Rock Art Show, was set up in Nashville a few weeks ago when Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin stopped over. Plant happened to be at the mall returning a pair of jeans. Segelbaum showed Plant a photo of himself clowning with Jimmy Page in 1998, taken by Philly photographer Melanie Weiner. Plant bought a print, and Segelbaum got an autograph: a MasterCard receipt. The shot, plus others, will be sold at the WMGK Classic Rock Art Show, tomorrow through April 18 at the Plaza at King of Prussia on the lower level.
Robert Plant attended the 90th birthday party for former Wolves goalkeeper Bert Williams on January 31, 2010. There were 250 guests present at Molineux to celebrate the event.
Robert, who sat in the back with with Steve Bull, donated a signed guitar for a charity auction. The guitar brought £851 to benefit the Alzheimer’s Society. Robert commented: “I can get tickets for most gigs but there are some events where the tickets are priceless and this is one of them.”
